I can't believe it has been this long.

It kind of makes you see things in perspective when you think about how far you've come. It didn't seem like too long ago when I was 21/freshman/single. Seven years seem to have passed in the blink of an eye, and now it seems that I am 28/senior postgraduate/married.
I wasn't kidding about the 'married' part.
Sometimes I wonder about what I've been doing with my life, and how it would have turned out had I made different decisions at the many critical junctures where choosing option (a) would lead to a radically-different outcome from option (b). Say, if I had chosen to specialize in Oil and Gas Engineering instead of Aeronautical Engineering. If I had chosen to go to work instead of becoming a postgraduate.
Or become Batman instead of Superman.
Yeah, laugh all you want, but it's true that one small difference in the decisions that you make can land you in altogether different scenarios. Where you stand on the pavement, for instance, determines whether or not you get knocked down by a car driven by a drunkard. Whether or not you attend a friend's birthday party, for instance, determines whether you might meet some dude there who's willing to invest heavily in your floundering company.
So what does this mean for all of us? Well, the way I see it, there are two possible ways to deal with such a situation. One can, for instance, just huddle in one corner and mourn about the possible decisions we could have made, or the 'what could have been-s', in a more layman parlance. Alternatively, one can sit back, take a deep breath, and hope that the decision that has been made was the best one that was possible, and to not waste time and effort on decisions that an 'alternate-you' might have made in a parallel universe.
And so, the latter position is one that I'm going to take.
My name is Muhammad Fadzli. I was born in 1983.
